Ali is from Iraq. He came to the U.S. in June of 2015 after having lived in Egypt for 10 years. Ali was a mechanic and a driver in his home country, and is now enrolled in Global Neighborhood’s job training program. He said he wanted to work there because “it’s convenient and quiet, not crowded.” He lives here with his wife and 4 kids., 3 boys and 1 girl that are all in school. His parents are still living in Egypt.

“There’s no problem, there’s freedom, I’m not threatened anymore. The only problem is English.”
WHAT IS YOUR DREAM FOR THE FUTURE?
“My dream is not important, my most important thing is my children. For my children I want them to achieve their own dreams and I will support them.”
