In June of 2016 Olena moved to Spokane from a small village outside of Kharkiv in Ukraine. In Ukraine she worked a variety of jobs – from train station manager to bank teller to baker. She lives with her husband and two daughters ages 17 and 19. Two of her sons live in Spokane and one lives in Sacramento and four of her children still live in Ukraine. She is currently going to ESL classes and is level three English. She has made friends in Spokane through school, church and her neighborhood. Olena loves gardening and cooking and looks forward to a time in her life when she can relax a little more.
