Our Pricing Philosophy
Our pricing strategy is rooted in our mission to offer pathways to employment for our neighbors who have come to Spokane as refugees, providing work through our sustainable, accessible thrift and vintage store. We aim to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where quality products are accessible to all, while also ensuring the sustainability of our business.
CORE PRINCIPLES
Fairness and Accessibility
Affordable Pricing: We believe in offering high-quality thrift and vintage items at prices that are fair and accessible to our diverse customer base, ensuring everyone can enjoy the benefits of sustainable fashion.
Community-Centric: Our pricing reflects our commitment to serving the refugee community, with special consideration given to their unique economic circumstances. We offer a voucher program for anyone in need that is apart of the refugee community.
Quality Assurance
Value for Money: We price items based on their condition, brand, rarity, and current market value, ensuring our customers receive excellent value for their purchases.
Standard Units: Thrift Store Soft Goods Items are priced per unit (e.g., per piece, by type) to facilitate easy shopping, consistency and increased purchase volume.
Pricing Tags: Vintage items are tagged with its individual price on the back neck of the garment with a specialized color bullet tag to indicate length the item has been on the sales floor. Thrift items are tagged on the left shoulder with the corresponding bullet tag color and additional signage is posted around the store explaining the unit pricing system.
Curated Selection: Our inventory is carefully curated to offer the best selection of thrift and vintage items, emphasizing quality, uniqueness and choice.
Support for Training and Employment
Sustainable Operations: Pricing strategies are designed to support the financial sustainability of our store, enabling us to continue providing jobs and training opportunities for former refugees.
Investment in People: A portion of our revenue is reinvested into training programs, skills development, and employment support for our staff, reinforcing our commitment to their growth and success.
Environmental and Social Responsibility
Promoting Sustainability: By pricing items to encourage reuse and recycling, we contribute to environmental sustainability and reduce waste. We are always looking to find a second or third life for an item.
Ethical Considerations: Our pricing takes into account the ethical implications of our business operations, ensuring we uphold our values and social responsibility. We acknowledge that global climate change and refugee flight go hand in hand and cannot separate our employees' well-being from our planet's health. Therefore, we're working to lessen environmental harm and promote sustainability.
Implementation
Regular Reviews: We conduct quarterly reviews of our pricing strategy to adapt to market changes, customer feedback, and operational needs.
Training: Staff are trained on our pricing philosophy and guidelines to ensure consistent application and excellent customer service.
Feedback Mechanism: We actively seek and incorporate feedback from customers and staff to continuously improve our pricing approach.
By adhering to these principles, we aim to create a thriving retail environment that supports our mission, meets the needs of our community, and promotes a sustainable future.
